    Zapproved is seeking a UX designer to join our growing legal software company headquartered in Portland, Oregon. This role will partner with a growing UX team, and support a specific product group to deliver great design work that is consistent with user-centered design principles and practices, Zapproved brand and product standards, and stakeholder needs. We are seeking a designer that thinks beyond UI to define user experiences that meet their needs, and match their mental models effectively.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    In this role, you’ll…

    • Serve as a UX designer and subject matter expert for a Zapproved product group, partnering closely with engineering, product owners / managers and other stakeholders as needed.
    • Demonstrate superior listening and analytical skills to fully understand the problem and user tasks.
    • Apply user-centered design principles and human factors usability concepts to guide design decisions.
    • Prioritize projects/features based on understanding of product roadmap, intended implementation schedule, and shifting priorities.
    • Maintain interactive design prototypes and mockup new design ideas in Axure.
    • Design and conduct user tests based on feature and design goals.

     

    What You’ll Need:

    • Minimum 3 years of professional UX experience in a start-up environment or building enterprise software.
    • Demonstrated experience successfully performing iterative UX design work in an Agile environment. 
    • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders; facilitate cross-functional design discussions and gather feedback.
    • Ability to own a project from beginning to end, with minimal oversight.
    • Strong design fundamentals: Sketching, concept creation and wireframing, producing sitemaps and user workflows, creating interactive prototypes.
    • Strong experience with design tools such as Axure, Visio, Sketch, etc.
    • Experience and proven skills in web page design technologies: HTML, Javascript, CSS.

     

    What Would Be Nice:

    • 5+ years professional UX experience, ideally embedded in product team.  
    • Knowledge of material design.
    • Experience using and contributing to style guides.
    • Experience with 508 compliance.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Information Architecture, or equivalent experience.
